Description
Dying to the old form, a bird-like shape emerges from the dropped carcass below and lifts right up and off the painting, as though new life is born out of its own ashes -- similar to the ancient legend of the rise of the Phoenix . Painted with acrylics in my early twenties, the simplicity of the cool blue coloured bodies coming from the green depths of the sea contrasts with a sudden hot flash of red fire -- the new form opens its wings to lift victorious beyond a gentle-toned orange rainbow -- the feeling of uplift suggests a leaping beyond the confines of all that was known before, even beyond the firmament of sky that bulges up to the very top of our scene-- connecting Earth and Heaven. The symbolism is rich here: Leaving behind the life we once knew, we can leap past the so-called edges of space and time, beyond even the agreed-upon definitions/ limitations of name and number into the Great Unknown. In this realm, anything is possible. Ponder this... IF THE WORLD WERE PERFECT AND YOU KNEW YOU COULD CREATE WHATEVER YOU MOST DEEPLY DESIRED , DESERVED & DECREED, WHAT IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU CREATE ? Here's a hint for you... As you picture whatever it is that you'd most readily bring into manifest form, breath in with the same emotion you would bring in this new quality or thing -- and see what colours and feel what body sensations you associate with living "with the new as though already true". This is the secret behind bringing Spirit into Physical form, as demonstrated by the Emerald Tablets of Hermes Trismegistus: "AS ABOVE , SO BELOW. ~ AS BELOW, SO ABOVE .
